Content Writer- Education and/or Healthcare 

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced content writer to support education and/or healthcare focused projects. The ideal candidate will create content from conception to publication, including research, drafting, and reviewing. This candidate will possess experience in journalism and is passionate about writing engaging content for a diverse audience. If you have significant experience writing insightful documents that provide clear and thorough explanations of complex concepts, we’re looking for you!

Responsibilities: 

  •  Manage and complete work on time for multiple content writing projects 
  • Revise content to ensure content is consistent, clear and engaging and follows content requirements in terms of style and project specifications 
  • Optimize articles for SEO and accessibility 
  • Identify gaps in content and recommend new topics 
  • Edit content to ensure voice, grammar and style is on point 
  • Create and schedule posts for multiple social media channels 
  • Stay up to date on industry trends to support content development 
  • Distill complex concepts and language into content that is easily understood 
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging, branding and style 
  • Work with content strategists to build editorial calendars 
  • Produce well-researched industry-related content for publication online and in print 
  • Plan, write and proof-read engaging blogs and articles that tie into overall content strategy 
  • Respond to and consolidate multiple edits and points of feedback on your content 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in local journalism or related fields 
  • Excellent writing and use of tone, style, punctuation and grammar 
  • Familiarity with educational and healthcare landscapes 
  • Demonstrated ability to write content from conception through publication 
  • Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
  • Experience writing for different channels including web, email, print, social media, etc. 
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills, as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively 
  • Proven ability to weave compelling, engaging copy for any style 
  • Strong research capabilities 
  • Outstanding command of the English language 
  • Impressive attention to detail 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure while maintaining a professional attitude 
  • Ability to read and write in Spanish language is a plus
